Knowledge management
The importance of access to quality information and knowledge is as important as other key resources, like manpower and finance. Without the right knowledge, development interventions fail or are much less successful. In Ghana the negative impact of the dearth of information and knowledge in the sector is increasingly being acknowledged and knowledge management is given more and more the priority it deserves.

The Task Force on Knowledge Management in the Water and Sanitation Sector in Ghana gave a PowerPoint Presentation at the Mole XVI Conference 2005. The presentation gives a general background on KM and takes a closer look into KM in Ghana, the activities of the Task Force and an outlook for the development of KM in Ghana.

Proposed KM activities for 2004

Following the advocacy workshop of 12/13 May 2004, a Task Force was formed, which had its first meeting on 19 May 2004. During this meeting, the Task Force members discussed and agreed on a range of outputs to be delivered during its tenure May –December, 2004 .

This paper with the title "Improving access to and use of information and knowledge within the water and sanitation sector in ghana" gives an introduction to knowledge management in general and in Ghana in particular. It was presented at the Knowledge Management advocacy workshop in May 2004.

Knowledge Management assessment report

In November and December 2002, Trend carried out an assessment of Knowledge Management issues within the water and sanitation Sector in Ghana. This report presents the findings of this assessment of Knowledge Management institutions in the sector. The scope of the study involved an assessment of Knowledge Management needs of sector stakeholders, and an analysis of capacities of resource centres with regard to Knowledge Management.
